The Most Beautiful Oval Engagement Rings

Oval shaped diamond engagement rings are elegant, simple and unique, and are probably my favorite diamond shape today. I just can’t get over the brilliance that the oval brings to a left finger, and it even makes the fingers look more slender!

How, you ask?

Because an oval diamond is elongated, it may give the illusion of slightly longer and more slender fingers. Whether this is a good thing or bad thing is a personal choice!

Another fun fact about an oval diamond is it is cut the same way as a round diamond. So even though a round diamond has the most brilliance of all diamond shapes, an oval diamond is very close. The proportions and outline of the oval shape can really enhance the light return and sparkle.

Oval diamond engagement rings are perfect for someone who likes the “sparkly-ness” of a round diamond, but wants something a little different and unique!

Before you purchase an oval shaped engagement ring, make sure the ratio of the shape is just how you like it. This will depend on how wide or slender the diamond comes out to be. I prefer diamond cuts between the 1.3-1.45 range! Here’s a small diagram to show you an example:
